Stereo is working for per-patch modules. This can be both effects (reverb, phaser, tremolo) and things like drone oscillators.

The per-voice modules are still summed up in mono for use by the per-patch modules. That means that I can't have individual voices make panning decisions YET. I can't have voices shoot from left to right (eg, panning on an envelope) or put different waveforms in two speakers and so on. This will be my next sub-project.

Now I'm doing these first two projects in kind of a low-tech way: all variables and formulas are like mono cables in your FX rack. Everything you want to connect, you have to connect twice. If you want to have distortion after panning, say, you need two mono distortions. But what if all the equipment was smart enough to magically detect that its input cable was stereo, and work in stereo mode in that case, and additionally have a stereo output as well? That's what I've envisioned all this time. Now a panner would have a single-channel input, but a strereo output. But you could still just use one formula (as if using a cable that magically became a stereo cable) to hook to a distortion, and that distortion then magically knew to distort each channel separately.... that's the dream.

But also, not to do just stereo but 5.1 and 7.1.

And not just audio, but control signals too...
