Alpha-09 break for something new: FMAlgo

Postby forum » Wed Apr 26, 2017 7:13 pm

I took a few-day break from the scheduled clean-up project list to add a brand new module: FMAlgo.

FMAlgo is a set of any number of sine wave oscillators that can easily be hooked together for FM synthesis.

Think of it as a DX-7 except with:
-- any number of "operators", that is, oscillators
-- any "algorithm", that is, arrangement of modulation paths
-- any number of "feedbacks" both self-feedback (an oscillator modifying its own frequency) and indirect (modified by the output of something its modifying)
-- everything can be scaled however you want: envelopes, LFOs, MIDI controllers, combinations thereof
-- output can be used for subtractive synthesis, EQ, FX, etc.
-- can even take FM modulation from other Moselle oscillators

There are a dozen tutorial patches showing you both FM synthesis in general as well as Moselle's FMAlgo in particular.

Now that FMAlgo is finished, I'm going back to the Alpha-09 project list.
