-- form factor: it needs to work as a DAW plugin, it needs to run on Macs
-- language ability: it needs to support stereo/multichannel, it needs a history feature to allow writing filters
-- sound processing: it needs more kinds of modules
-- performance: needs to be much faster.
I'm chewing away on all these and hope to have a benefit in most areas with every release.
I haven't made a new module type in a year or two (the dirty Moog emulation is the newest). And EQ and Phaser are two things that the existing modules simply cannot do... so looking at them today...
The Moselle style is for modules to be open-ended where possible. For instance there's only one envelope, but it allows unlimited segments. There's only one Delay, but it allows unlimited taps. When I make an EQ, it will probably be a parametric with unlimited number of bands. Competing systems seem to get "300 kinds of modules" headlines by giving you 20 different EQs... one that's just a low shelf, one that's just 3 band with fixed frequencies and Q's, etc..Statistics: Posted by forum — Wed Jul 06, 2016 6:31 am
